Greetings. My name is Gedra. I am one of the Guardians here at the Institute.

I’ve had a chance to read over the brief you supplied. You’ve found yourself in quite a fascinating predicament. I believe no such case has ever been studied in the Institute before.

Do you have any idea what happened?

There are theories, yes. It would seem that the neutronic storm encountered by your vessel acted as some type of mediator for the transference.

So… the storm essentially fulfilled a Guardian’s typical role during a zhian’tara ceremony.

Precisely. It would seem that Joran’s memories were transferred to the one you call Sisko when the storm’s flares washed over your vessel.

So much of this still doesn’t make sense. In a typical zhian’tara ceremony, the host can regain control and suppress the transferred memories at any time. Why can’t Benjamin take back control of his body now?

As I said, child – no such case has ever presented itself to the Institute before now. We are in uncharted territory.

However, the Commission has decided that intervention in this incident could be mutually beneficial. Come, let us discuss how we may be able to help each other.

In the meantime, if you’d like to make a voluntary contribution to the Symbiosis Institute in exchange for helping your friend here, it would be greatly appreciated.

There it is; Trill. My homeworld. I always forget just how beautiful it is until I see it in person.

Take us down, Commander. The Commission is expecting us. A representative from the Institute should be on hand to greet us once we arrive.

So, in order for the Commission to undertake the ritual, we first need to retrieve Benjamin from the runabout and bring him back to the Institute on Trill.

The Commission has decided to help us by conducting a ritual that will reverse the transference. Such rituals are not normally sanctioned, but this is a rare case.

Ready to depart when you are, Commander. I’ve sent a brief to the Institute so the Commission should be up to speed by the time we arrive. We can’t lose a single moment if we hope to save Benjamin.

I’ll need to appeal directly to the Commission once we arrive on Trill. In the meantime, if any opportunity arises to assist or help the Commission in any way, don’t hesitate to jump into action.
