I’ve heard many things about you, Captain Janeway. I must admit, I was hoping that I got to be the one to hunt you down. How kind of you to come here and allow that to happen.

You might want to delay that gratification a moment longer. We have something that you may want to see. Independent, transmit your communication records to Voyager.

Just wait. I’m sending you a recording of our Independent associate’s meeting with the Arcaelans. They have expressed an intention to discard the Hirogen as soon as it benefits them to do so.

I’m not the kind of diplomat that falsifies evidence. The facts are on your side. You can choose to ignore them and kill us where we stand, or see sense and lay down your arms against us.

That Arcaelan filth… I will see to it that word of this treachery travels throughout the Hirogen ranks.

Now that we’re seeing eye to eye, tell us; What are the Arcaelans planning to do with fluidic space?

They instructed us, along with the Borg, to create and maintain several hundred quantum singularities that would all serve as payload delivery points.

Payload? What type of payload?

High-yield tricobalt charges. Each conquered entry point into fluidic space has been marked with a concealed payload of these charges, all of which are controlled by a central detonator.

A simultaneous detonation across the entire quadrant… We can’t allow this to happen. Where is this central detonator located?

A significant number of our forces were sent to the Thrima system in order to stand guard over a planet known as Zodalua. The Arcaelans maintain a covert outpost on the surface.

I will instruct my forces to maintain their posts to avoid rousing Borg suspicions of this discovery. They should also allow you safe passage through the singularity.

Looks like we’ve got our next destination. Mr. Paris, engage full impulse towards the singularity. Plot a course for Thrima and engage maximum warp as soon as we emerge on the other side.

If it’s out of range of our scans, then we can only hope it’s now out of range of those tricobalt charges.

It’s up to Species 8472 to locate and isolate the remaining charges that have been planted, but well done, Independent. We’ve averted a potential quadrant-wide catastrophe here today.

They could remotely detonate the device at any moment… Independent, plot a course for the Malon Vortex. We need to sever the connection to the detonator and neutralize those tricobalt charges.
