Khan Noonien Singh

Conqueror. Prince. Exile.

While many tyrannical dictators have ruled throughout Earth’s checkered history, perhaps none have endured such a brutal deposition as that suffered by the genetically-engineered Augment, Khan Noonien Singh. In the late 20th century, at the height of his power, Khan was regarded as the supreme ruler of more than a quarter of the Earth’s population, with his domain spanning across the majority of the Middle East and Asia. However, following the conclusion of the Eugenics Wars, Khan found himself faced with an almost impossible decision – submit himself for capture and summary execution, or leave his kingdom behind and attempt to elude his would-be captors. Choosing the latter option, Khan placed himself into exile aboard a sleeper ship – the SS Botany Bay – along with a small contingent of devout Augment disciples.

More than 270 years later, Khan’s destiny would irrevocably change when the Botany Bay was discovered adrift in space by the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise. By giving the order to release Khan and his followers from cryogenic sleep, Captain James T. Kirk would come face to face with one of the most dangerous adversaries he would ever encounter throughout his lifetime. Following the disruption of Khan’s plot to hijack the U.S.S. Enterprise, Kirk attempted to show mercy by banishing Khan and his followers to Ceti Alpha V – an empty, yet habitable world where Khan and his people could build a life for themselves without posing a danger to others. However, this attempted act of leniency would plant the seeds of vengeance deep within Khan’s mind.

Fifteen years later, the crew of the U.S.S. Reliant would touch down on Ceti Alpha V, mistaking it for their intended destination, Ceti Alpha VI. This fateful encounter would lead to Khan gaining control of the U.S.S. Reliant, and thus, a means of escaping the exile imposed on him by Kirk. With hatred in his heart and the desire for revenge poisoning his mind, Khan embarked on a personal mission of vengeance with the aim of settling the score with his old rival – no matter the cost.
