Alok Sahar believes that the past always catches up with anyone running from it – and he has been trying to escape his own for centuries. His transformation into an Augment happened against his wishes: Giri the Marked, an Augment, slaughtered his family but spared Alok, only to later transform him into one of her own. Alok became an unwilling part of the Augment ranks and wreaked havoc on Earth during the Eugenics Wars. However, when the Augments lost the war, Alok was exiled into stasis along with his newfound Augment brethren. Centuries passed before he saw the light of day again, and it was Section 31 that brought him back. Yet, there is always a price to be paid for redemption of this magnitude. Alok’s price was to atone for his sins by doing the Federation’s dirty work.
Inhumanely strong, agile, and intelligent, Alok Sahar is the perfect secret agent material, capable of completing any assigned task, no matter the challenge it may present. Control assigned him to lead the Alpha Team to find Philippa Georgiou and seek her help in stopping a mysterious weapon from getting into the wrong hands. Their mission saved the Prime Universe from overwhelming destruction by the Godsend and the Terran Empire invasion, but it also liberated Alok from his past, as he found someone who could understand him like nobody else – Georgiou. He was ready to accompany her in the sacrifice to destroy the Crescent Nebula, which was concealing a portal to the Mirror Universe. However, Lieutenant Rachel Garrett and Quasi managed to save them at the last second, giving both a chance for a new life. The worries of their past had instead been replaced with hopes for their future.
