The rest of the Nausicaan fleet have begun to disperse. Either they have been intimidated by our presence, or they have finished what they came here to do. Scanning the outpost for lifesigns now.

Commander, it is my unfortunate duty to report that scans of the outpost yield zero lifesigns. Weaver did not survive the attack.

With the decimation of the outpost and the loss of Weaver’s research, the prototype warp engine installed on our ship is now the only remaining evidence of her work.

This work could have been an incredibly important development for intergalactic travel. We cannot allow Da Silva to get away with this.

Scans have confirmed the presence of several Nausicaan vessels in the vicinity of Weaver’s outpost. We may be too late, Commander.

Alright, so here’s the deal. I’ve identified the error in my calculations. My current warp core configuration should be much more stable now.

The high-level benefit of my new configuration is that a much smaller Dilithium crystal matrix is required to facilitate the matter/antimatter reaction between the deuterium and the antideuterium fuel sources.

The result of course, is a significant reduction in the amount of Dilithium required to facilitate this reaction, while still maintaining the theorized maximum output of four thousand teradynes per second.

The potential savings incurred through the utilization of this new warp core are staggering. Everyone from Sol to Kronos is going to want one of these.

And this Da Silva, he regards your research as a threat to his business?

You got it. Da Silva is a ruthless businessman. He’s quick to address any and all problems or threats to his operations. So we need to get this warp core online and proven effective as soon as possible.

I hope this isn’t over the line, but I’ve taken the liberty of having the reconfigured prototype warp core installed on your ship. My old junker just can’t provide me with accurate data.
