Gabriel Lorca
They say that death is the great leveler. Rich or poor, predator or prey, mortality does not play favorites. However, there are those who have been touched by death, yet slipped its embrace, returned from that undiscovered country to breathe once more the familiar air of corporeal existence.
But one does not return from death without being changed irrevocably. And Gabriel Lorca is no exception. In fact, this Lorca, who came from the Mirror Universe and took the place of the real Lorca to command the U.S.S. Discovery, was already a dark and dangerous individual, but having been stabbed through the back with a sword and then vaporized by a super-mycelial reactor, he has returned not just darker and more dangerous but messianically insane also.
When your entire being has been dissipated and spread across the entirety of everything, when you have seen so much and felt every action, and when your baseline sense of self is already one of supreme arrogance, it is not difficult to see how you would conflate your own existence with the existence of the universe itself.
So Mirror Gabriel Lorca is back from the dead, resurrected, ready to assume the mantle of godhood, and pity the fate of any mortal who dares stand in his way.
