Mara Dalen
CLASS: Science
GROUP: FIRST CONTACT MOVIE
FACTION: NONE
Not every member of the Mavericks has been an Independent from the start. Mara Dalen, however, is as Independent as one could be. Born into a family of colony traders, she knew from a young age that life on the fringes is not an easy one, least of all safe. Save money on a security convoy, and you might end up losing every last strip of Latinum to pirates. Forget to pay a tithe to local warlords, and they might raid your home. And if one hopes for help from Starfleet or a different powerful faction, who knows when they'll find time for a small colony in the midst of world-changing events?
To Mara, there was no other option but to step up and protect the people she loved. Uniting with a few friends, she took action, banishing the criminals who terrorized her colony and inspiring her neighbors to do the same. As their influence grew, so did their impact, and soon, Mara Dalen was a name known to every wrongdoer in her sector. People called her a maverick for stepping up when no one else dared and going against the powerful ones who prey on the vulnerable. But for Mara, everyone joining her cause is a force capable of changing the tide and the violent order of things, and together, they are the Mavericks that change the world for the better.
