TMP Nyota Uhura

CLASS: SCIENCE
GROUP: THE MOTION PICTURES
FACTION: FEDERATION

Famous communications officer of the U.S.S. Enterprise, Nyota Uhura has had a long and illustrious Starfleet career, from her peerless Academy days, to multiple five-year missions aboard the Enterprise, under both Captains Pike and Kirk. Despite her initial reservations about such a career, doubting that she was good enough, she ultimately embraced the journey and boldly followed in her grandmother’s footsteps.

Few, if any, Starfleet officers possess Uhura’s level of skill and excellence in both linguistics and exolinguistics. She not only deploys this practically as a communications officer, but also commands great diplomatic power, given her intimate knowledge of the languages and cultures of the galaxy.

She is also a master of modern and legacy communications protocols and technologies. Indeed, she was able to retrieve 20th-century NASA transmission codes aboard the Enterprise, which were integral to communication with the V’ger entity, when it assailed the Solar System. On another occasion, she visited 20th-century Earth herself, aboard a commandeered Klingon Bird-of-Prey, and proved that her communications expertise even extended to whale song!

No stranger to promotion, she has recently been elevated to the rank of captain, though she is yet to receive her first command. Thus, despite the recent decommissioning of the U.S.S. Enterprise-A, a message relayed to the bridge crew by Uhura herself, her career is certainly not winding down. In fact, she is just getting started.
