Not many experts of antiquities are also at home being threatened, shot at, and chased to the very edges of the known galaxy. But Toryn is one such Independent – someone who’s as comfortable at the helm as he is haggling over an ancient artifact. Some would label him a thief, but he would object to such a reductive description. He’s also independent in more than just his political loyalties – he had to be, leaving Andoria as a child, and fending for himself until he could make ends meet. But he wears his past as a badge of honor, because that’s how he mastered his craft.

Known to sometimes move people as well as goods, Toryn is deft at skirting galactic law when he needs to, and claims he can run rings around any Federation starship. That would be, in part, thanks to his trusty old faithful, the Realta. As with much that comes Toryn’s way, the ship was likely acquired from a dubious enterprise. But just like Toryn, you underestimate the Realta at your peril! Especially when it’s crewed with his ragtag gang of fellow galactic misfits: Sesha, Kuron, and Elea.

As their de facto leader, Toryn usually has his hands full. So if there’s one thing he would change about his arrangement, it would be to offload some of that responsibility, even if it means sharing more of the spoils. But only to an Independent Commander who has proved themselves worthy. If you’re willing, Toryn is extremely able.
